It's not very often that you can meet a "gold bike". And this BMW, proudly named by its builders "UM GOLD", is actually the first one I'm featuring in the blog.
The bike has been customized by Untitled Motorcycles located in London and it's based around the BMW R80/7 frame, with modified subframe to take a 3/4 seat and an arranged place underneath to house a battery box. After losing all unnecessary brackets, bead blasting and powder coating the frame got the required look and shape.
An 800cc BMW engine, that UM GOLD is carrying, has been overhauled. Some key parts, such as timing chains, tensioners, clutch friction plates and piston rings, where replaced by new ones. The bores were honed. The reworked and cleaned carbs were fitted with new diaphragms. After all, the engine was painted in heat resistant black.
Both wheels are BMW snowflakes equipped with a drum brake (rear) and a disc brake with the Twin Brembo calipers (front).
In order to fit speedo, oil and neutral lamps Untitled have slightly changed the old head-light design. For the back they got a miller stop light, which is screwed to the custom made brackets. The bodywork is adorned with two customized fenders, both, as well as the fuel tank and the head-light, are gold leafed and finished with varnish.
That's truly unique and unforgettable build. Go to UM website for more cool bikes.
